90 Days to position #5

……….then slapped by the penguin update……gggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

For this project, I studied a thread at the warrior forum and went to work. I did choose a difficult key phrase to really put the strategy to the test.  I used the phrase ‘how to win the lottery’.  This is the site I set up howtowinthelotterycash.com

I put a lot of time and money into this site hoping I had finally figured it all out.  Most of my funds were spent on 90+ original articles.  This strategy was meant to hand spin articles, but I thought, by using original ones, the site would really make a better impact .  So, here we go.

Day 1 = Set up webpage, ordered the first round of articles, made a video and uploaded it to youtube. Also, posted a link at topiccraze for the site.

3 = Used an article and converted it to a  pdf then posted it at scribd with 2 links back to site.  Ordered an article submission package that is supposed to yield 1000 backlinks.  I was skeptical about using this, but it did move the site up in ranking very quickly.

4 =  Another ariticle made into a powerpoint and submitted  to slide share, two backlinks included.

6 = Started submitting articles to 25+ web properties. Each article contains two backlinks, two images, and has the video embedded. This is supposed to give the article more quality.

13 = First check, site is at position #185.  On this day I ordered a senuke social network package.  This included 20 backlinks to home page along with two more tiers of backlinks to the 20.

14 = Position #173

15 = Now at #97

16 =Slipped to #124.  senuke campaign completed today.

17 = Dropped some more #127

23 = Still dropping #133

28 = Used a fiverr gig to submit video to 20 sites, some with backlinks to main site.

30 = Today the article summission package is done.

31 = Wow! This is impressive.  The site has jumped to position #16

32 = Move up another three spots #13

42 = Still climbing to #12

47 = The first round of web properties is done, I am now starting on the  second round.

55 = Looks like the site is now on the first page! #8

60 = Ordered a link wheel service that includes 15 web properties.

65 = Still holding #8.   Finished up round 2 of manually posting articles to web properties.

67 =Posted site to  ipaddress.com.  I noticed other sites had linked here, so why not.

73 = Seem to be stuck at #8.  From the article submit, I received 135 live links. I submitted all of these to my socialadr account and set them to receive 20+ bookmarks each. I also did the same to all the web property articles I submitted. This is supposed help juice up all of these links. To make things better, I also outsourced some bookmarks to all of these pages.

75 = This day I outsourced another article submit to 100 directories.  This serviced used an original article and then spun it into more. I am starting to wonder if this wasn’t the start of the slap for this site.

79 = Good news today. Just seen the site at #6.  Starting to get 50+ unique visits per day to the site. Sweet

81 = Moved up one more spot, yes! #5.  Ordered some pr6 backlinks today. Forgot to bookmark the the videos from round one and two. So did that today.

82 = Dropped to #8. 100 articles package done. Made a 3rd video for round 3 and had it submitted to 20 video sites.

86 = Back up to #6. 3rd video submission done. The 100 live links I made into rss feeds and submitted to rss sites. Also sent  6 bookmarks each to these article pages.

97 = Back to the sweet spot of #5. Also today noticed a pagerank of 2 on the home page and interior pages. My 3rd round of articles to web properties is now in progress.

Day 99 = The penguin update slapped the site of the map.  To make matters worse, a few sites that are now on the first page are really lame sites with no content. I also looked at some of the backlinking to these sites, and most have keyword stuffed anchor text. I also noticed most links are from one site.  What ever happened to diversity!

Not sure yet how I am going to approach my next project. Will need to do a lot of research before moving on.
