45 days, position #1, #2, #5, #7 for other phrases

This second case study will be targeted to this website. backlinksdominator.com.  No keyword research needed. I am going for the term ‘backlinks’.  This site is 2 years old. I used to sell an ebook on this site. I had thousands of backlinks already pointing here. Most of those were on my other sites. I removed all of them, but it takes a long time for search engines to de-index backlinks. If you noticed from my first backlinks project, I have already been setting this site up for the backlinks term. So I am a little ahead of the game. Site had a page rank of 2 before I removed all of the backlinks. Now it is holding a page rank of 1.

For this project I will be using article marketing as I did with the first back links project.  But this time I will add more backlinks from different sources.  Such as, social bookmarks, slides share sites, blog comments, web 2.0 profiles, web 2.0 properties, video sites, and edu/gov back links.  Most of these tasks will be hired out to fiverr users.  I will also try to use link wheels when ever possible to get links indexed quicker.

Day 1 = Went through the blog set up to make sure this site is set up properly.

2 = Purchased an article submission package from a warrior forum member.  He writes an article and spins it and submits it to 7 different article directories.  This is done over a 60 period.  End results are supposed to be over 2,000 live back links.

3 = Purchased 5 articles from fiverr user.  These were not good quality.  Will not order articles from fiverr again.

4 = On this day this site is #144 with Yahoo, #160 with Bing, and a no show with Google. This site is #1 for the term ‘backlinks dominator’, but very few people search this phrase.

7 = Ordered a 100 back links package from fiverr.  Links are supposed to be on pages with actual pagerank.

9 = Purchased 200 social bookmarks and 1 article from ribbun.  Posted article on this site when it was complete.

15 = Chris from warrior forum sent me an update.  So far 147 live back links completed.

16 = Orderd 60 2.0 profile back links.

17 = Site is #71 with G.

20 = Now #48.  Nice jump.

22 = Made a slide show and uploaded to the sites on my resource page.  Also order a video testimony from fiverr.

24 = Position #39

25 = Following gigs ordered, video to 20 video sites, 20 edu back links with 3000 links to the 20, 15 web 2.0 properties with link wheel.

30 = When I purchased the article submit package, one of the key phrases I wanted to use was ‘backlinks seo’.  Today my site is #6 for that search.  Only 600 searches for that term per month.  So won’t see too much traffic for this.

41 =  Now I am starting into the second month with this seo back links project.  I will repeat what has been done during the first month.  I will do some of my  own article marketing.  8 articles have been ordered.  4 will be spun and the other 4 will posted to this site for original content.

45 = Checking my stats today, I see someone searched ‘backlinks tips’.  Once again, just like the first project,  my site is getting first page listings for phrases other than my target one.  This comes from varying my anchor text in backlinks.

My tips page is #1 and #2 with the big G.  only 30 searches per month.

‘back links seo’  term gets me #5.  only 30 searches also.

‘backlinks seo’  listed at #7.  600 searches for this.

47 = Articles are completed.  Each month I order 8 articles.  The even ones, 2,4,6,8  I post to the site for original content.  The odd ones 1,3,5,7 I spin and submit to the article directories and free blog sites.

57 = Closing in on 2 months now.  Not much movement in serps.  Site is at #38 for main keyword.

71 = Now that the holidays are over, I need to get back to this backlinks seo project.  Just checked the position of this site and it is still only at #36.  All of the backlinks from the past  maybe hurting this sites ranking.  I will continue to do the same tasks each month to see if the site moves up in ranking.

75 = Here are my lastest standings for keyphrases:

Back links seo = #5   dropped one spot here.

Backlinks seo = #6   also slipped one down.

Backlinking = #18    this keyword recently is showing up in the serps.

Backlinks = #35        finally moved up four spots with my main keyword.

Back links = #37      moved up six spots with this phrase.

Seo backlinks = #54   not much to brag about here.

Over two months of search engine optimizing so far.  I hope to start seeing better results going into month 3 and 4.

90 = Three months into this project now.  I am calling this one a failure.  My efforts are not even close to paying off.  I am thinking it’s because I am using the auto spin option when spinning my articles.  I read that someone else tested this and confirmed that it is not a good idea.  Search engines are getting smarter and smarter.  I will try this same method on my next project just to make sure this is an issue.
